..."Clinical Remission." That's what the doctor said I am now in (after just 4 cycles of chemo)! Remission, remission, remission--it's a big word for me to fathom right now. I still had my 5 chemo treatment yesterday also, and will have the 6th one in three weeks as originally planned. Then they will do a cat scan.
I'm not not out of the woods yet though, I have some decisions to make. Dr. explained there is inevitably some microscopic cancer spots still in there that we cannot see. He gave us some choices: Do nothing and just monitor with check ups every 3 months, have another surgery so they can document what's what, go into a clinical trial for 12 more months of chemo, or continue with 3 more of the chemo treatments we've been doing for a total of 9. There's one more choice that Monica brought up and that's go the holistic way. Of course, money will be a big factor in my decision.
So, we are moving this week end, and then taking off on our road trip to Idaho on Monday the 11th- 17, and then I need to have my decision made for the next dr visit on the 27th. It's making my head swim a little, but I know it will be ok. Please keep praying.
If any of you have had experience with this I'd love to hear from you. Just scroll down at the end of this blog post and click on "comments," or email me at marianotes@yahoo.com.
Oh, we saw a coyote running across the field toward the creek on our way home yesterday. We hear them all the time out here, but never get to see them.
We've had some major cold rainy weather for 5 days now. Our Indian Summer is definitely over, there's lots of new snow on the mountains already.
God Bless You All. He has certainly blessed us.

Maria, I do keep you in my prayers constantly. I hope you are feeling "the Spirit". I just wanted to tell you about Peggy Rieke, a friend of mine in Laramie. 18 years ago, while pregnant with tripletts, she discovered that she had a very agressive breast cancer which required a bone marrow transplant. She got thru that fine, but 5 years later, when she went for checkup, they found that there were traces of cancer again. She opted for the holistic treatment which meant mostly a very strict diet of mostly raw veggies, free range chicken eggs, etc. Her doctor laid it on the line. And here she is this many years later and doing wonderfully, with no cancer. I'm just offering some hope. I know your decision is not an easy one but know we are praying for your courage and cure. Love, Naomi Stone
