Hi Everybody,
Well here I am, no make up and no hair. I bought this scarf last summer at the Sturgis Bike Rally in South Dakota. Little did I know I'd be getting so much use out of it a year later!
How are all of you doing? I'm still hanging in there, no major problems or complications to report--thank you Jesus. I'm moving right along with chemo treatments & get just a little nausea for a couple or three days afterward. The Dr said at my last visit, that I will probably go longer than 6 cycles but didn't really explain why. He keeps repeating that I have a very aggressive cancer. I think I'm supposed to interpret that as I shouldn't have any great expectations. But I know the Lord has got it under control.
So anyway, it looks like we will be staying in Reno through the winter months. We are looking for a winter house sitting job. Do you know anyone from the Reno area who goes South for the winter and needs a house sitter?? Maybe you know someone who knows someone, etc. If so, please let us know. That would be ideal for us as the motor home is not made for living in in real winter weather. Also we would not have to rent and buy furniture, etc. That would be an expensive waste.
The weather is certainly cooling off now. It's still beautiful during the day, just plenty cool at night and early morning. We took a day drive last weekend northwest of Reno into California, and found some beautiful lakes and national forest area, only 30-50 miles away. We had planned to take the motor home up to one of the camp grounds there this weekend. BUT, have discovered we need to spend money on new shocks and a new radiator hose instead. Have to special order stuff like that for the motor home and then wait. Then Ron will do the work himself. So the camping plans got canceled, we hope to still make it at least once before the snow flies. It's tricky to make plans like that between chemo treatments.
Two of our three kids had birthdays this month. I don't know, somebody is getting older, could it be me?
Monica and I went thrift store shopping and I found a whole bunch of new head scarves. Just washed them today. It helps to have a variety. Girls, it's just like shoes & earrings, you can never have too many! Oh, and I usually do wear makeup, I just didn't that day Ron took this picture of me. I decided to be brave and send it out there, it's therapy for me.
Again, thank you for the cards, prayers, money, gifts, etc. Ron & I both appreciate it soooo much. I feel very loved and connected. The Lord has blessed me tremendously and you are all a part of that. Your prayers will not be wasted.
Love & Bless You All~~~maria
