Mom was released from Renown Hospital around 7:30 PM on Friday, April 28. It was fantastic to walk in and see her fully dressed in front of the mirror applying her makeup. It's amazing how quickly things can change in the hospital.
That morning she still had the tube coming into her neck. The one that allowed three smaller ones to pass through it, which were inserted into three different veins in her neck. She also had the "grenade" in her side as well. She said that one hurt/was the one she felt the most coming out. These both were removed sometime in the morning. She was fed solid foods for the first time too.
The ride home was very slow. Dad had to watch out for every little tiny bump. She is very fragile. This became very rigorous on the last stretch to their RV spot because it is a pothole filled, unmaintained dirt/used to be asphalt road.
When mom arrived home she tried getting out of the Jeep herself while dad went in to turn on some lights and the heater. It didn't work. Dad has to lift her in and out of the Jeep. Mom walked into the motor home, looked around a bit and said, "It's nice to be home."
