Mom got out of bed to walk 3 different times yesterday!
More good news - the nurses moved mom into a nicer, larger room. Now she has plenty of space for lots and lots of visitors. Yesterday, in the old room, we had 5 people visiting all at once - like a can of sardines. Other than the extra space, she has a great view out the window. We aren't sure what kind it is, but right outside the window is a gorgeous flowering tree (see photo). Does anyone know what it is? Beyond the tree is a green grassy knoll and more flowers.
Today she's already walked down 2 very long hallways, all the way across the hospital unit. Had a bath, changed her gown and worked on breathing exercises. She's planning on one more long walk this afternoon.
I (Rocky) am flying back to North Carolina today. Monica is stopping by with some lunch and then we are headed for the airport. I wish I could be here the entire time mom is in the hospital - but she's doing great, so I feel OK about leaving. Monica or Dad will probably be doing most of the blogging from this point.
