"I feel AWESOME, I know I'm on major drugs, but I feel AWESOME!"

"I haven't been this comfortable for months. I can breathe!"

Mom is doing great. She's feeling good (thanks to some pain killers and the epidural) and her high spirit is in orbit this morning. She is still a little tired, because she said that she's so happy she couldn't sleep straight through the night.

She just said, "My mom (Myra Semanko) was my inspiration for surgery. Because she always fought so hard through all her surgeries, to stay alive."

So far, mom isn't going to be able to drink any liquids for a couple more days. "Ice chips would be exciting..." But the nurse says she can't have them. For now, she has a little foam swab on the end of a stick that can be dipped in water and used to moisten her mouth. And regular applications of lip balm help her out too.

We also found out this morning from Emily, Dr. Lim's assistant, that a "port" was installed on mom's side that will be used in her upcoming chemotherapy. The port will localize the chemo in the area where the cancer Dr. Lim couldn't remove resides. Emily says the remainder is very granular, like salt. This is great news, as the chemo will be much more targeted and cause less damage to the rest of her body. The bandage covering the her incision, from pubic bone to sternum, will be removed later today to promote the healing process.

Mom says thank you again for all your prayers. They have definitely had a big part in the success of her battle so far. She asks that you keep those heartfelt prayers and thoughts coming! Mom says that you're all in her thoughts and prayers as well!

More later....
